Buying Guide: How we made the choice
If you are setting up your own office at home and need a reliable laser printer, there’s nowhere to look but here. We’ve curated the best printer models and they were able to satisfy the following criteria.
Dimensions and size
Printers used for home offices significantly eat a smaller space than commercial printers. Since there isn’t a big dedicated space for office equipment or there might be a limited nook where you can work, this is one of the primary considerations.
We have printers that can conveniently sit on top of the desk or under the desk. And if you have a very cramped up space, you can find a handful of printers on this list that can easily sit on that divider or drawer next to your office desk.
Printer speed and dual functionality
Whether you need a faster or a printer of average spend depends on the load of work that you have. It makes sense to get one that can do the job faster and can handle more load if you have tons of documents to print. We chose units that print decently quick or very fast, there aren’t any slow printers here.
Laser printers are not built all the same. Some are more multifunctional and are capable of doing more tasks. Aside from printing, some can copy, scan, or print documents on both sides of the paper. This can save you time and you don’t need to buy multiple equipment, considering the small space too.
That’s why we have both options for basic printing and multifunctional ones. You have to gauge your need versus the cost of the unit since the more it can do, the higher the cost tends to be.
Upfront cost vs long-term expenses
Speaking of the cost, you must be careful not to overlook this one.
Some printers cost cheaper upfront but they can have a more expensive ink cartridge or the ink can dry out easily.
So while more expensive ones can make you go beyond your budget, it can have cheaper cartridge replacement or the ink does not dry out easily.
But of course you have to consider your budget. So while the cheaper ones may have limitations, we kept it to a minimum by getting more value for your money laser printers.
Prints clearly
This is nonnegotiable. There is no sense in buying your own printer for professional documents if it will have blurred outputs. So yes you can expect clear to very clear black and white documents from these printers.
